Just Add One

Birthdays.

Thirty-two. Number immense if you present it to someone where the numerals are in reverse. And what if you take the two and three, add them up, and then see a surprised face unable to comprehend what lies in times so far apart?

Go the other way by doubling the Christ years a year short. You feel as compelled by every mystery still ahead.

Triple the thirty-two and you arrived at the bittersweet end. This felt too quick, didn't it?

Thankfully you add just one once a year. Thankfully you don't multiply, divide up, or do other mathemagic. Just add one once in a while.
