Smokes

She, he, they

whatever they are today

puffed straight into my face.

I didn’t care for it to say the least

but then again what came after

was worth the worry.

I flew out of my body

in the air

up up up I went

smiling wide.

I knew then

this will transform me.

The city lights on the horizon

hazard to a spotty yellow rainbow.

I raced to the deep purple sky

as they were swapped by the stars.

When my view became a light pale blue dot

I knew it was time to return

to my body, to my home.

Thank you stranger for giving me what I’ve not asked for. Tonight I’ll carry a grateful smile.
